Bastion Life’s Flexible Premium Variable Life Insurance policies are designed to comply with the financial regulations of most international jurisdictions as well as the Cayman Islands' strict regulatory requirements. Flexible Premium Variable Life Insurance policies also qualify as life insurance policies under the United States Internal Revenue Code.
Bastion Life's policies offer clients the freedom to invest in a diversified portfolio in addition to their primary life insurance investment. The policies are specifically designed to meet the conditions of relevant exemptions to the U.S. Securities Act of 1933. This enables Bastion Life to provide investment in a diversified portfolio - including fixed interest, equities, hedge funds, real estate, private placements and alternative investments.
Highly qualified, respected and well-known international asset managers are selected by Bastion Life to manage the investment programs selected for each Bastion Life policyholder. Bastion Life's objective is to provide maximum earnings and benefits consistent with our clients' levels of desired safety relative to each type of transaction.
As an Exempted Segregated Portfolio Company, Bastion Life provides total asset protection and wealth preservation for each of its policyholders. The principle of segregated accounts, provided by Cayman Islands Law, is that each account is considered a separate entity and assets of one account cannot be attacked by any creditor of any other account or of Bastion Life itself. Bastion Life segregates the assets of each policyholder, providing the ultimate in security and protection for our clients' assets.

Bastion Life chose to incorporate in the Cayman Islands because of the protection and security afforded by the Segregated Portfolio Legislation of the Cayman Islands; the high standards of its legal system based on UK law; its world class professional, accounting and legal practitioners; and its highly respected regulatory agency, the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA).

Bastion Life is registered as an Exempt Segregated Portfolio Company under the Companies Law (2001 Second Revision) and holds an unrestricted Class “B" insurance license under the Cayman Islands Insurance Law (2004 Revision). Registration as an Exempted Segregated Portfolio Company allows Bastion Life to segregate the assets and liabilities of the company itself from those held for each policyholder, providing the ultimate in security and protection for our policyholders' assets.
